Wallena Gould is my inspiration
Hello everyone,
I would like to comment on what a godsend Lena has been to me. After starting anesthesia school I had to withdraw for personal reasons. I was distraught and ready to give up my goal of becoming a CRNA. I contacted Lena and told her my situation, she became my mentor and friend. She listened to me, encouraged me, and motivated me to continue my goal. Lena gave me advice on how to strengthen my application for readmission, she sent me the airway workshop package and information from the lucheons. She was always available via phone or email. Thanks to her I will be starting anesthesia school in 2010. Lena is a true inspiration to me and I thank God for her. I pray her passion and selfless acts will continue to be an inspiration to others as they pursue their goal of becoming a CRNA. She is much loved and appreciated. She is my hero.

Wed, 07/01/2009 - 7:16pm — macostaLena is truly an inspiration and I recently have had the chance to discuss mentoring opportunities with her. From reading the comments from so many people, Lena is motivated to see others succeed. Lena does whatever it takes to help someone succeed. I believe the best way we could honor Lena is to be just like her. Go above and beyond for others. We can shake the world one person at a time. Lena not only has a passion for applicatns to CRNA programs, she also spends hours mentoring young folks in high school. Lena sees what many others have ignored for so long. Our minoity youth need examples, leadership, and a little guideance so that they are successful but successful at a younger age. I think we should all actively particpate helping our youth witness job opportunities in nursing and as CRNA's so they have a passion, a vision, and start formulating a plan of attack. Lets all honor Lena and her efforts of helping others by taking some time and assist someone.
