University of the Philippines Nursing Faculty Fund Needs You!
Attention, Filipino nurses: If you are an alumnus of the University of the Philippines-Manila College of Nursing (UPCN), or if you simply want to show your support for this venerable educational institution, UPCN’s newly established Faculty Endowment Fund hopes to hear from you. According to UPCN Dean Josefina Angeles Tuazon, PhD, the fund is designed to show acknowledgment and appreciation to UP nursing faculty who stay in the Philippines, as well as retired faculty and deans who need medical and other assistance. Many UPCN faculty have recently retired or are expected to retire soon. The fund will also be used to help retain current younger faculty by providing incentives to motivate them to stay at UPCN, such as competitive compensation and benefits.
The appeal for donations is open to all UP alumni, friends and other potential benefactors who want to help ensure that UPCN can continue to offer quality nursing education to the Filipino people. For information on how to make a contribution to the UPCN Faculty Endowment Fund, contact Dr. Tuazon at jatuazon@pldtdsl.net.
