Hello
Flash cards can certainly help you but what is your study regimine like once you get out of class? Do you have a study partner? Do you committ to sitting in the library and study for at least a couple of hours before going home? And once you are home, do you study for a couple of more hours? Do you study until late in the evening and early in the morning before class (noticed that I did not say a test)? Do you tape the class and listen to it as soon as you get home?
Another thing that I noticed that you and others are not mentioning is to purchase a NCLEX - RN Study Guide book. You will find that if you study, for example, pediatrics in class and you read the pediatric section in the NCLEX study guide you will actually see concepts in scenario form that is closely related to your in class test. This is ideal for Medical - Surgical. Obstetrics, Psychiatrics and Fundamentals of Nursing. By studying the NXCLEX Study Guide along with your course material, you are essentially studying for your Boards.
Lastly, every course has a math medication portion as well.In the book store when you purchase the NXCLEX Study Guide, there are several medication math books to select. Choose one that has pictures of pumps, syringes, etc. to illustrate the actual concept and the delicate math calculation as well.
So, first, purchase these two books and study!!!!! You should have improved grades if you follow this very strong suggestion.
