Prepping for Boards -- Any Recent Grads Have Tips?
Hello Everyone,
I have just finished the first 13 months of a 28 month Nurse Anesthesia Program. Now that I am nearly half way to the finish point, I am beginning to think seriously about prepping for the Board exam. I have already signed up for The Valley Review. Are their other tips you can think of to help me prep for Boards that I should be working on now?
Thank you!
Adonai

Board Prep
Sat, 09/26/2009 - 7:44pm — rongeez3Hi Adonai,
I have just finished my 25th month of a 27 month Nurse anesthesia program. Definately formulate a plan and stick to it. The valley review was a great learning experience for me. They were able to explain difficult concepts in a clear concise fashion. The "sweatbook" and "memory master" are one of my favorite sources to study from. Do you have to take the SEE exam? If you do, the results will identify any weaker areas that you can focus on. (If you have any:) My plan of study entails studying one topic at a time from multiple sources. That way, repetition helps me solidify specific concepts. Also one source can help you learn a topic much better than another. Lastly, I go to the "question of the day" everyday to get my day started. www.ccanesthesiareview.com/QOD/QOD.asp
I remember being where you are, and your half-way there! Take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll be done.
Good luck and stay focused,

Board Preparation
Sun, 09/27/2009 - 10:17am — tmcbooHi Adonai,
I completed my program exactly one month ago and it took me a couple of days to define my plan. Your plan should be tailored according to how you learn best. I study six hours a day M-F. I had plans of studying longer hours, but I quickly found out that I zone out after six. So I absorb six quality hours of material and then I call it quits for the day. I use Valley, the textbook by Yao and the review book by Faust. I find those to be most helpful. You will soon learn which text you enjoy using the most. Whatever you decide to do, stick with it.
I wish you continued success.
