Nursing Schools Entrance Tests
Why is there an entrance test for Nursing Schools? why is it we cant just register and beging classes? I have taken the LPN test about 5 or 6 times and failed!!! not because I dont know what I am doing but the time alotted is not enough. The reading material is much too long.....have you seen the paragrahs you have to read.....OMG!!!! then there is the math...not hard but tricky and then again the time....!!!
I am a 55 year female of mix race, I have always wanted to be a Nurse; that is my passion!!!! I have a Nursing Assistant Certificate, a Medical Coding and Billing Certificate, and a Medical Assistant Certificate as you can see everything I have done as been medically related. I have tried to enter Nursing school to become an LPN but with no avail. I figure this would be a shosrter way to become a Nurse since I am up in age.
My question is this: why is the entrance test so hard? why can they make it easier for mature returning adults who want to become Nurses? I know I can do it!! I know I would be a good Nurse!!! all I need is the chance to prove myself, but I cant pass the entrance test!!!!!! My grades average for all those certificate I have has been nothin less that a 3.9. I worked in a nursing home for 18 years and during those years I manage to have letters of commendation from family members praising me on my good job. I went from a Nursing Assistant to a Recreation Leader on the Alzheimers Unit, I managed and supervised a dining room with 28 residsents with Alzheimer diagnoses, and I must say I did a darn good job.
So my people out there I need some help!!!! what can I do? my passion is to be an R.N. before I leave this precious world!!!! any input would be gladly accepted.
Sincerely
A Nursr To BE
