My Journey towards becoming a CRNA begins
I previously discussed how I attended the information session luncheon organized by Lena Gould in Miami last year and how listening to the speakers boosted my determination to continue the pursuit of my goal of becoming a CRNA. I took a grad course, and continued studying for my CCRN certification. I remained in touch with Lena, an exceptional mentor and John Bing, CRNA and a good friend of Lena's, as they steered me towards the road to success. I am happy to say that I recently got accepted to start my journey of becoming a CRNA starting in August, 2010. Confidence in oneself and determination is the basic key to achieving any goal in life. People were told not to think about it, its to hard to gain admission. Some are frustrated due to difficulty getting into the ICU, while some encountered negative comments from jealous co-workers or managers. To these guys I strongly state that nobody can stop you but yourself. Take some graduate classes and obtain your CCRN certification while you wait. Remain within this empowering network and make an investment that will change your life by attending the up-coming DiversityCRNA (DiversityCRNA.org) information session luncheon coming up on March 27, 2010 at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. For those that applied but didn't get accepted this year, this is not the time to feel depressed. This is the time to do some homework, to get back to work, remain steadfast and determined. This is the time to keep positive minded people around at all times, and believe that no one can stop you but yourself. For me, this is the beginning of a serious task that must be accomplished.I couldn't have had no better mentor than Wallena Gould.
