Director, Center for Professional Development, RN Opportunity

Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, OH

The Director for Center of Professional Development is responsible for oversight of professional activities to create an environment supportive of professional development, quality of care and quality improvement for nursing staff and allied health professionals. Develops systems to insure continuous quality improvement of programs designed to meet the role expectations and the changing needs of the organization in order to foster a culture of safety and the atmosphere of a learning organization. Develops collaborative educational programs with other departments and integrates service excellence and cultural diversity in educational programs at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's in Nursing or Education that reflects knowledge of advanced nursing and educational practices, theories and staff development. National recognized certification preferred
  • RN licensed in the State of Ohio
  • 3-5 years of clinical and nursing management experience to coordinate nursing education programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills necessary to interact with a variety of departments, hospital personnel and external contacts
  • Analytical ability necessary to gather data, solve problems, and make recommendations concerning education and patient care services policies and procedures
