Vice President, Patient Services/Chief Nurse Officer

The Wisconsin Heart Hospital (TWHH), Wauwatosa, WI

On behalf of our client, The Wisconsin Heart Hospital (TWHH), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, we are seeking candidates for the position of Vice President, Patient Services/Chief Nurse Officer. Reporting to the hospital CEO, The VP PS/CNO is responsible for providing leadership, management, and direction to the profession of nursing quality of care, clinical excellence, patient safety and risk management. Serves as a leader, role model, and change agent within the organization, the profession, and the community. Participates in the establishment of organizational strategic plans, goals, objectives, and priorities of for TWHH. Serves as a voting member of the Hospital Board of Directors and Senior Management Team. In addition, this position:

  • Oversees the development of system wide programs, policies, and procedures that provide the foundation for patient care
  • Works with the Senior Leadership Team and direct reports in the development and implementation of integrated strategies for the strategic and financial plan.
  • Collaborates with community leaders to develop and implement strategies to meet community healthcare needs.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, maintenance and systematic evaluation of systems and processes that support the organization plan for continuous quality and performance improvement.
  • Guides the development, implementation, maintenance, and systematic evaluation of critical pathways, clinical guidelines and additional strategies to ensure the provision of consistent quality and cost effective care delivery.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and facilitates business opportunities for service lines in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide a seamless delivery of healthcare services.
  • Maintains positive relations with physicians to ensure that WFH is a preferred partner of physicians.

The Hospital

TWHH is a 60-bed cardiovascular hospital that provides advanced and innovative cardiovascular medical and surgical services and a unique acute-care and ambulatory setting. TWHH focuses on raising the standards for high quality, specialized services. TWHH strives to set the bar for clinical and service excellence in both its' local market as well as peer specialty care organizations. The provider team of physicians, nurses, technicians and associates work on one accord to exceed the service expectations of patients and their families by offering a patient and family-centered experience.

The System

As one of the largest integrated regional health care delivery systems in Wisconsin, Wheaton Franciscan organizations provide one-fourth of the total health care delivered in southeast Wisconsin.

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible for RN license in the state of Wisconsin. Seven to ten years of progressively more responsible experience in Nursing Administration. Requires extremely strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, project management and leadership skills as well as broad technical knowledge of the administration and operations of healthcare functions and facilities including human, legal, technological, fiscal and customer aspects of the delivery of care.
