We currently have a great career opportunity for an RN Case Manager in our Hawthorne, NY office. Function: Assist the employer and Matrix in the resolution of complex Workers' Compensation, Short and Long-term disability claims. Resolution may include return to work activities, facilitating medical care with providers and the Employer's health care plans, and achieving directed case management strategy outcomes. Claim resolution may involve working directly with the Employer, Attorneys, Investigators, Rehabilitation Counselors, the employee, the treatment provider and other professionals assigned to the claim Responsibilities: Handle the most complex claims in case management. Position includes telephonic and onsite activities to assist employees in returning to work. Consults and advises disability staff on medical elements associated with disability claims. Evaluates nature, status, duration and validity of disability claim modified duty programs for injured claimants. Requests and investigates all appropriate sources of information to make accurate and ongoing disability determinations. Assists with special projects and performs training and seminars for in-house staff. Performs related work as assigned. Knowledge & Skills Required: Prefer experience in Occupational, Fitness for Duty and /or Rehabilitation. Human Resources and legal background a plus. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential. Requires excellent computer literacy. Prior experience managing corporate Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and FMLA is required.
