Are you looking to join a team dedicated to providing high quality medical management and customer service to our customers? If so, the Utilization Review Manager position may be of interest to you. The role is responsible for managing Utilization Review Nurses that are responsible for reviewing requests for medical treatment to ensure individuals receive appropriate healthcare in order to return-to-work and normal activity in a timely and cost effective manner.
This is a telecommuting position and the Manager will be working from a home office.
Responsibilities:
o Develops, manages and directs UR staff to ensure the delivery of department specific products and services. Establishes work standards and monitors progress.
o Manages performance by establishing and communicating objectives, providing on-going coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
o Acts as a technical expert and resource for staff.
o Identifies opportunities to increase operational efficiencies and improve effectiveness. Implements new and revised policies and procedures.
o Collaborates with internal business partners to develop working relationships and ensure service level agreements are consistent with Managed Care strategy and objectives.
o Ensures appropriate compliance with all legislation, corporate policies, and programs. Conducts desk audits.
Qualifications:
o Graduate of accredited nursing school and current registered nurse license.
o 6-8 years of relevant nursing experience and progressively more responsible work experience.
o 3-5 years management experience strongly preferred
o Basic knowledge of states workers' compensation laws, disability management and utilization product review helpful.
o Ability to develop, manage and direct an office/unit operation and to effectively communicate operational procedures to field/unit staff.
o Demonstrated leadership and innovation in achieving results
