POSITION SUMMARY
This position, System Director of Surgical Services, has dual responsibilities - responsibility for the operations of Surgical Services at Summa Akron City Hospital and has responsibility for the Surgical Service line for Summa Health System.
The System Director of Surgical Services manages the Department of Surgical Services by developing organizational structures, professional climate and philosophy of patient care which promotes optimal delivery of patient care, execution of clear goals and standards and continual investigation of alternative methods to better manage and facilitate operations. Responsibilities as a Service Line Leader will be to serve in a contributory, collaborative, and consultative role working together with physicians and administrative service line leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful System Director, Surgical Services candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Education
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with Masters Degree or Master of Science Degree in Nursing. Certification preferred or required to obtain in 2 years. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio.
Experience
• A minimum of 7 years of related experience, preferred 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Deep experience in a large, multi-site, integrated healthcare organization. The System Director will be an established leader in the healthcare industry and will have a proven track record in business and financial management.
• A record of success in operational assessment, improvement planning and cultural change.
• An outstanding results orientation and the capacity to develop and support sophisticated business models and service lines.
