The Sr. Clinical Quality Specialist supports the Quality Improvement (QI) program by planning for and implementing quality improvement, patient safety, and health promotion activities.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and facilitate quality projects and activities in compliance with CareFirst’s mission, national accreditation standards, and state requirements
• Plan, develop and deliver oral and written presentations/materials in support of the QI program
• Apply nursing knowledge and judgment to develop and/or review and revise clinically-related performance standards, criteria, and policies and procedures
• Coordinate and facilitate QI-related committees, as well as establish agenda and prepare meeting materials

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and RN licensure in Maryland, Virginia or the District of Columbia
• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience
• Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in quality improvement in a managed care environment
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and tools
• Ability to interpret national accreditation standards and federal/state certification requirements
• Must have reliable transportation
• Master’s degree and Certification in QI (CPHQ) preferred
