The After Hours Urgent Care nurse assumes responsibility for nursing triage assessment and plan of care for Harvard community patients in the ambulatory setting. Utilizing critical thinking skills, the nurse manages workflow in the Urgent Care setting and assures for efficient, safe staffing, working closely with practice and nurse managers of the unit. Assists with procedures, provides intravenous therapy, patient education, care coordination, telephone advice, and other nursing functions as needed. Communicates effectively with members of the University community, patients, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Massachusetts license to practice. Previous experience in an urgent care or emergency room setting. IV skills required.
Additional Qualifications: BSN preferred. Ability to organize tasks, problem solve, and respond in a calm, purposeful and pleasant manner in times of multiple demands and emergency situations. Previous charge nurse experience also preferred.
