The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing invites applications for the position of Psych-Mental Health Faculty/Clinician. This is a full-time faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities in the MSN/DNP program. The faculty member in this position will be expected to have significant input into the development and implementation of a psychiatric mental health clinical course for all DNP students enrolled in a clinical area. The faculty will be expected to maintain a faculty practice 20% time. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years of clinical practice, preferably in an integrated primary care/psychiatric mental health practice, and a minimum of two years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning with documented evidence of teaching ability and competence. A doctoral degree in nursing and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas are required.
UTMB provides a rich interdisciplinary environment conducive to teaching, practice, and research across Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The School of Nursing has a state of the art laboratory for bio-behavioral research, a nursing simulation center, and other faculty resources. The UTMB campus is home to the University Hospitals and Clinics including the John Sealy Hospital, Children's Hospital, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital, and the Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) Lab, and the Galveston National Lab.
