Professional Practice Instructor of Nursing - Blanding, Utah
Position Summary The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University (USU) seeks a Professional Practice Instructor of Nursing at the USU Eastern, Blanding Campus. This is a 9-month benefited position.
Responsibilities This position fills the role of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Coordinator and Instructor. The successful candidate will work with current faculty in nursing and health professions related programs to teach undergraduate lectures, clinicals, and labs in the CNA Program. Responsibilities may include coordination of clinics, curriculum development, teaching, professional engagement, and service. This position interacts with the State CNA, is responsible for advising CNA and Allied Health students, and oversees arrangements for required CNA state student testing. The incumbent must work with the Utah, Colorado, and Arizona State Nursing Assistant Registry Directors for state approval of our CNA certification programs. Courses are taught in person at the USU Eastern Blanding Campus, and may serve traditional, non?traditional students.
Minimum Qualifications 1. An Associates’ degree in nursing 2. Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or eligible for a licensure in the state. 3. Minimum of two years recent experience in health care. 4. Must be eligible for certification as a Program Care Coordinator (PCC) within specified time frame and must be registered with the Utah CNA Registry. 5. Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, organization, and technological skills. 6. Candidates must meet the Federal Requirement of Train the Trainer, “instructors must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.”
Preferred Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing or a health related field. 2. Five years of recent experience in health care 3. Teaching experience
