PRE-HOSPITAL CARE COORDINATOR

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is currently seeking a Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator to work in our Emergency Medical Services Division located in Martinez, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day County coordination of the EMS pre-hospital and trauma care systems in Contra Costa County, including planning and coordinating emergency medical services; developing and implementing EMS system policies, procedures and programs; coordinating the credentialing process for EMS providers; and monitoring and evaluating emergency medical services provided by EMS pre-hospital personnel and EMS provider agencies. Additional responsibilities include reviewing and investigating complaints and incidents involving EMS provider agencies or pre-hospital personnel; responding to and participating in the coordination of emergency medical services in disasters and multi-casualty incidents; and coordinating and monitoring QI activities for EMS participants.
Candidates must possess a valid CA driver's license, CA RN license and 5 years of full-time experience (or its equivalent) as an RN with emergency nursing experience. Valid CA licensure as a paramedic and 5 years of full-time experience (or its equivalent) as a Paramedic may be substituted for the RN license and experience. Experience providing comprehensive QI activities or program management experience may be substituted for the emergency nursing experience. Positions with primary responsibility for QI activities may be restricted to RNs only.
