MULTIPLE TENURE TRACK POSITIONS FOR FALL 2009
GRADUATE NURSING PROGRAM DIRECTOR/FACULTY Adelphi University, founded in 1895, is a private university with over 7500 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The main campus, centrally located on suburban Long Island, 30 minutes from NY City and convenient to public transportation, offers programs in Arts and Sciences, Education, Psychology, Business and Social Work in addition to Nursing. Additionally, programming is offered in a variety of off-site areas including Manhattan.
The School of Nursing, founded in 1943, offers traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate programs to over 1400 students in a supportive and creative environment. Experienced and junior faculty members are needed in all clinical specialties to support the School of Nursing’s programs including RN pre-licensure, RN to BS, graduate and doctoral. Graduate programs in Nursing Administration, Emergency Nursing/Disaster Management, Adult Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education/Staff Development, and a combined MS/MBA program are offered both on and off campus. The PhD program concentration is on education with a new track in health systems management. The faculty serve as a single unit and the expectation is to teach across programs bringing their expertise to all levels of learners.
Faculty with the following experience/qualifications are encouraged to apply: MEDICAL/SURGICAL • PSYCHIATRY • PEDIATRICS NURSING ADMINISTRATION & EDUCATION • HEALTH POLICY INFORMATICS • QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS Assistant, Associate or Full Professor positions are available. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Preference will be given to applicants with doctorates, experienced as teachers, and with recognized scholarship in their field. Experience with doctoral education is needed for some available positions.
We are seeking applicants for a GRADUATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR/FACULTY MEMBER to provide leadership for programmatic, accreditation, and student issues related to graduate nursing education. The position is a tenure track faculty appointment. The position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills; commitment to diversity and equity and ability to work with multi-cultural populations. Administrative experience is preferred.
