The College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center seeks exceptional candidates for the PhD in Nursing Program Director.
The college produces the largest number of nursing graduates in the state and, as a national leader in distance education, offers traditional and non-traditional programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels and a variety of post-masters certificates. The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is one of only a few academic health centers in the nation with seven health professional Colleges: Allied Health, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Graduate College. The successful candidate will have plentiful opportunities to facilitate interprofessional research and education.
The PhD in Nursing Program prepares nurses in translational interdisciplinary areas of research for roles as nurse scientists and faculty. The Program Director guides the faculty teaching in the PhD Program to implement the College’s strategic priorities and serves as leader for curriculum development, program evaluation, admissions and progression, and generation of resources for the program, faculty and students. The Program Director maintains excellent communication with the senior administrative team, faculty, students, staff, and college and university stakeholders to support effective and timely decision-making to achieve strategic outcomes.
Candidates must have a degree in Nursing and a Doctoral Degree, preferably in Nursing, a sustainable program of research, eligible for senior university rank of Associate or Full Professor, with a minimum of three years teaching experience with one of those teaching in a PhD in Nursing Program, and strong academic program administration experience. Rank, tenure, and salary are competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience.
