Responsibilities
Basic Assignment
Responsible to prepare and teach a variety of nursing concepts across the health care continuum. Works closely with the Associate Dean and Nursing faculty in the design, implementation and evolution of the nursing curriculum.
Responsibilities
•Prepares and teaches a variety of concepts on a generalist level, spanning from well families to acute/chronically ill adults. Instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings, as well as clinical supervision and evaluation of students at a variety of affiliated institutions.
•Participates actively in departmental responsibilities to include curriculum review, development and scheduling.
•Serves on faculty committees and participates in college governance.
•Participates in academic advising of students.
•Participates in department, division, and college activities and performs other duties normally assigned to full-time faculty members.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
•Masters degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
•Three (3) years recent successful practice of nursing in mental health/adult acute care, or pediatrics.
•Eligible for license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
•Ability to meet State of Washington Vocational certification requirements.
•Computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
•Teaching experience in an Associate Degree Nursing program including experience in both didactic and clinical teaching.
•Experience in both adult and child care.
•In-service education experience in health care setting.
•Experience or course work in curriculum design and evaluation.
•Experience using writing as a method of evaluation in nursing.

Terms of Employment
There are two full-time tenure track faculty positions contracted on an annual basis begin-ning Fall quarter 2009. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and membership in the TCC Federation of Teachers or payment of a service fee is required. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. Evening & off campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load. Degrees must be from accredited colleges or universities recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and verified by official transcripts.
Selection Process
All complete application packages received by the guaranteed consideration date will be reviewed by a screening committee. Selected candidates will be invited for interview which will include a teaching demonstration.
