We are currently accepting applications for a Nursing Instructor - BSN Program (Spring 2010 - tenure track).
Function: Instruct students and evaluate their progress to facilitate students in attaining their educational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered nurse with a minimum of two years nursing experience, who has no other duties while engaged in the training program.
- One year of experience as a registered nurse in one or both of the following areas:
1) teaching an accredited nurse's training program
2) caring for the elderly or for the chronically ill of any age through employment in a nursing facility, extended care unit, geriatrics department, chronic care unit, hospice, swing bed unit of a hospital, or other long-term care setting.
- Each theory course instructor shall also possess at least one of the following qualifications:
1) a valid Illinois teaching certificate or a provisional certificate
2) a certificate indicating completion of a Department approved train the trainer workshop/program
3) evidence of at least one semester of formal teaching experience
4) college course work during the previous six years, which includes at least one course in teaching/learning principles, curriculum development, teaching methods, or instructional techniques
Desired Qualifications: Experience as a Basic Nursing Assistant program coordinator and experience as a CNA.
