The Odessa College associate degree nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. The program has a commendable 36 year history with graduates practicing nursing all over Texas and beyond. Content is taught in a block curriculum with tracks for the licensed vocational nurse to become an R.N., as well as two traditional nursing options allowing students to take nursing courses day or evening. West Texas offers many excellent clinical sites, including two major acute care hospitals located in Odessa. Nursing faculty teach face-to-face, online, and online hybrid courses, nursing skills in the well-equipped simulation laboratories, and clinical nursing courses. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical nursing. Starting salary is competitive for nursing education and includes an annual critical shortage supplement.
