RESPONSIBILITIES: The faculty member is responsible for teaching medical/surgical nursing, and may be required to teach foundations of nursing.
In addition, faculty members are expected to stay current in their disciplines and in teaching methodologies, implement changes in instruction based on assessment results, maintain reasonably distributed office hours, develop and revise curriculum, participate in a variety of college committees and task forces, participate in community service activities, and advise students as appropriate.
This tenure-track position is scheduled to begin October 2009.
REQUIREMENTS: A graduate degree in nursing and two years of medical/surgical clinical experience are required; previous experience as a nurse educator is preferred. Candidates must be licensed nurses in Maryland or have the ability to be licensed. Preference will be given to candidates with curriculum development experience, demonstrated ability to evaluate student performance, experience with test item writing, and experience with instructional technology.
