Shepherd University seeks qualified candidates for full-time, tenure-track faculty appointments in a medical/surgical nursing specialty and in women's health, maternal and newborn specialty at the undergraduate level (two positions available).
Faculty members are expected to contribute to teaching, service and scholarship and support the vision "to prepare caring, competent, culturally sensitive nurse leaders for a diverse society through excellence in nursing education." Faculty members will participate in courses and program development, implementation and evaluation. Faculty members may be called upon to teach in a distance-learning mode and expected to develop web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction. Specific assignments are dependent upon departmental needs. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advisement, participation on and chairing department committees and engagement in university service activities at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (progress in a doctorate program considered) in addition to a master's degree in nursing and an unencumbered license to practice nursing in West Virginia are required for nurse faculty. Recent relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Recent teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program.
