Full- Time/Part-Time: Full-Time
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in nursing; three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in nursing, including clinical and research experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan; certification; possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Minimum Typing Requirements (wpm) (if applicable):
Desired Qualifications: Excellent verbal/non-verbal communication skills; ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team; computer skils in data entry and management; knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, Advoy, Lab Tracker, UDC, and HTRS databases; knowledge of management of research protocols; IRB knowledge.
Job Summary: Works with patients with bleeing and clotting disorders providing direc speialized care, counseling, and instruction; assesses symptoms and makes decisions within parameters of nursing protocol; provides direct nursing care to patients and assists health care providers with medical procedures; interviews patients and triages phone calls in order to determine and assess patients' health care needs and serves as an advocate; assists and participates in research projec; involves promotion and development of research programs; attends conferences, staff development programs, and workshops. This position is located at the MSU Center for Bleeding & Clotting Disorders on Hannah Boulevard, East Lansing, Michigan.
Summary of Health Risks and Physical Demands (if applicable): Duties associated with this position involve exposure to human biological specimens and TB risk or working within three feet of patients in a health care setting.
