Mount Mercy College is a Catholic, coeducational college founded by the sisters of mercy in 1928. The College offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated, and graduate degree programs. The picturesque campus is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and enrolls approximately 1600 students.
The Nursing Department offers a large undergraduate major in Nursing and a new Master’s of Science in Nursing. The department is currently searching for a tenure track faculty member at the rank of associate professor to direct and teach a wide-variety of courses in the evening MSN program. The MSN program is designed for working adult nurses and classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends in an accelerated format. Responsibilities will include teaching courses at the graduate level, recruiting, administration of the program, advising, scholarship and service.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent. A.B.D. candidates will be considered assuming completion of their degree by August 2010. Preference will be given to candidates with graduate teaching experience. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a willingness to support Mount Mercy’s mission, which is a Catholic college providing student-focused baccalaureate and graduate education in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy.
