Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Professor of Nursing

East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing is seeking applicants to teach Pediatrics, Pathophysiology, Adult, and Gerontology courses beginning in January 2013.

Position Qualifications:
Tenure track with an academic focus: Doctorate in nursing or a related field, with a Master of Science in Nursing degree, and practice experience required; teaching experience and record of active, funded-scholarship preferred. Exceptional candidates completing the doctorate may be considered.

Tenure track with a clinical focus: Doctorate in nursing, practice experience, and certification in advanced practice required.

Clinical non-tenure track, fixed-term, renewable: Graduate degree in nursing and practice experience required; teaching experience preferred for some positions.

Research non-tenure track, fixed-term renewable: Graduate degree in nursing, doctorate in nursing or related field, strong record of scholarship in nursing required.

Temporary positions may be available in academic or clinical settings. Graduate degree in nursing and practice experience required; some positions require advanced practice certification. Exceptional candidates completing a graduate degree in nursing may be considered, but must complete the degree before start of employment.
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English and be eligible for RN licensure in Tennessee. Advanced practice certification (if required for the position) and RN licensure recognized in Tennessee must be obtained before teaching and/or practice. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a team environment are required.
