The Department of Nursing of the College of Staten Island, a senior college of The City University of New York, seeks candidates for a tenure-track position as an Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor of Nursing beginning September, 2009.
Required: Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field, (for appointment to
professorial rank) or significant progress toward the doctoral degree. Candidates must have NYS RN license, a Masters degree in Nursing, a demonstrated commitment to teaching, and an active program of research and publication or evidence of potential for significant scholarly achievement. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, student advisement, performing department and college service, and engagement in an active and productive research agenda. Reassigned time and start up funding to support research and scholarly activity for new faculty are available. Salary range: Instructor $47,832-$57,482; Assistant Professor $55,938-$71,974; Associate Professor $58,317-$85,842; and Professor $66,799-$102,982. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications.
The Department of Nursing offers AAS, RN/BS and MS (CNS, CNS/NP, and postmaster’s NP) programs, including one of the nation’s only certificate programs in Cultural Competence. Clinical expertise in all specialty areas needed. The Department also participates in the recently established Doctor of Nursing Science at the CUNY Graduate Center. The College offers 43 academic programs, 15 graduate degree programs and challenging doctoral programs to 13,000 students. The College of Staten Island, located in New York City’s fastest-growing borough, offers the opportunity to experience the breadth of New York City from a park-like 204-acre campus, with free transportation available to Manhattan. The College contains an advanced, networked infrastructure to support technology based teaching, learning and research. The search has been extended.
