Frostburg State University’s Nursing Program seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing. Position is available fall 2013. Salary competitive and includes USM benefits package. This position requires that the instructor will maintain office hours on campus at FSU.
Responsibilities: Teach in a fully CCNE accredited, growing online RN to BSN program. Assist in program administration including recruiting. FSU seeks an innovative and creative nursing educator who can successfully contribute to the program and assist in current development of an MSN program. The current faculty focuses on quality instruction of the online learning environment and is currently pursing Quality Matter™ certification for all BSN courses. As part of the development of the MSN program the faculty plan to pursue certification for all MSN courses as well. The successful applicant will display evidence of excellent leadership skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned Master degree in Nursing or related field (with 9 graduate credits in nursing education if MSN degree is not in nursing), licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Maryland. Experience teaching in higher education; expected completion of doctoral degree in nursing or related field prior tenure.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctoral degree in nursing or related field or in process of obtaining a Doctoral degree in nursing or in related field, five or more years of experience in higher education; two or more years full-time teaching nursing in higher education, and experience with on-line course design and instruction. Experience in the field of nursing informatics or educational preparation in nursing informatics is a plus.
