Frostburg State University seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing to serve as the Coordinator of FSU’s Nursing Program. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes USM benefits package. Limited summer school instruction is expected.
Responsibilities: Coordinate and teach in a new and growing RN to BSN program. We seek an innovative and creative nursing educator who can successfully guide the program through accreditation and develop a MSN program in the future.
Minimum qualifications: ABD in Nursing (for appointment at the Instructor level); licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Maryland. Two years teaching experience in higher education. The successful applicant will display evidence of excellent leadership skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred qualifications: Earned doctorate (for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor) and successful administrative and program planning experience; two or more years administrative experience; and five years of teaching experience including online course design and instruction.
Frostburg State University is located in the Appalachian highlands (elevation 2,000 feet) of western Maryland. Approximately 2100 students reside on campus in 11 traditional halls and one apartment-style community. The main campus covers 260 acres within the town limits of Frostburg (population 7,500). The University also offers courses at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown and on the Catonsville Campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.
