Samuel Merritt University School of Nursing invites applications for Full-Time Clinical Nurse Instructor (Med Surg/Critical Care Specialty), Sacramento Regional Learning Center.
The full-time Clinical Nurse Instructor is responsible for creating a positive learning environment for students in accordance with the educational objectives of the courses and for implementing the policies identified in the course syllabus to ensure the successful achievement of course objectives. CNIs do not have responsibility for scholarship hours and are responsible for a limited number of service hours to accommodate participation in course and content meetings as well as office hours. CNIs may teach in clinical rotations in in-patient, community, laboratory, and simulated clinical settings as well as internship/preceptorship courses. They may also teach a limited number of didactic hours.
Qualifications: Masters in Nursing or related field required. Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in California. Demonstrated current competence in Medical Surgical and Critical Care Nursing. Effective leadership and communication skills. Past experience in clinical teaching preferred.
