About Our Organization:
The MGH Institute of Health Professions is an academic affiliate of the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital, offering graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Nursing, and Physical Therapy and a post-baccalaureate program in Medical Imaging. The Institute is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The School of Nursing is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. and the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education, Inc.
Department Overview:
The School of Nursing offers a curriculum leading to a Master of Science in Nursing for both non-nurse and registered nurse college graduates and a Certificate of Advanced Study for Post-Masters students. A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and an accelerated baccalaureate degree are being offered. Specialty concentrations are available in adult, family, gerontological nursing, pediatrics, acute care, psych/mental health and women's health.
Job Description:
The School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions seeks applications from a dynamic, energetic family nurse practitioner with prior teaching experience to join the faculty of the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Prior teaching experience in health assessment desirable. Responsibilities will include teaching at both the entry and advanced practice levels of an entry-level master's degree program, participating in the development of the curriculum at both the entry and advanced practice levels, facilitating development of clinical sites for precepted experiences, participating in recruitment activities for the specialty, advising students, and working as a member of the nursing faculty. Teaching assignments will be based on program need and candidate interest and experience. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in Institute level faculty committees.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MS in nursing and certification as a family nurse practitioner, prior teaching experience at the graduate level, and excellent interpersonal skills with evidence of recent clinical experience. PhD in nursing or a related field preferred. Interest in developing research/scholarship required. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
