The School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco, invites applications and nominations for the position of Department Chair, Family Health Care Nursing. This position entails the full range of faculty, staff, and administrative responsibilities including: recruitment, selection, evaluation of faculty and staff; planning and monitoring programs in teaching and research; recommending faculty appointments, promotions, merit advances and terminations; and administration of financial affairs.
Criteria for appointment include: Doctoral degree in nursing or in related field; prior clinical practice and teaching experience at the graduate level; prior academic administrative experience; a national reputation in nursing research; and demonstrated ability to obtain and manage extra-mural research. The finalist must be qualified for a tenured appointment at the professorial level.
