The Department of Nursingat Dutchess Community College invites applications for two faculty positions in Nursing. These openings have an expected start date in August of 2013. Minimum qualifications include an earned Master’s degree (terminal degree preferred) in Nursing or Nursing Education and a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
The position involves teaching a variety of nursing courses, which will include both classroom and clinical instruction in an integrated nursing curriculum. Teaching assignments may include evening assignments and clinical courses may not be limited to the immediate Poughkeepsie area.
Knowledge of curriculum development, test construction, outcome evaluation, prior teaching experience, and possession of strong clinical skills are necessary to fulfill this position. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with or teaching community college students and to those with an understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education. Candidates should have some experience in using instructional technology in classroom or online adaptations, and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies. A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction is strongly preferred.
