Faculty Positions
The following faculty positions are available in the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Unless otherwise noted, requirements for full-time non-tenure stream positions include earned doctorate or completion by 8/31/2011. Part-time non-tenure stream positions include an MSN degree (doctorate preferred). PhD in nursing or relevant discipline required for tenure stream positions. Applicants must possess evidence of a program of scholarship or clinical skills in an area of nursing specialization. Department Chairperson:
Full-time leadership position available for a nurse scholar who will assume responsibility for the academic and administrative leadership of a department. Qualifications include a focused program of research, eligibility for tenure, and eligibility for rank at full professor.

Director of the PhD Program:
Full-time leadership position available for a nurse scholar who will assume responsibility for the academic and leadership of the PhD program. Qualifications include a focused program of research, eligibility for tenure, and eligibility for rank at full professor. Nursing Administration Faculty
Full-time position for a nurse scholar who will assume responsibility in the Nursing Leadership role. Qualifications include a PhD in nursing or a related field and a focused program of research in health policy.

Manager of the Nursing Skills Lab:
This full-time twelve-month non-tenure stream nurse practitioner will be responsible for designing evidence/science based instruction, utilizing technology, direct instruction, as well as coordinating the operations of the Skills Lab within the Center for Innovation in Clinical Learning.

Nurse Practitioners:
These full-time non-tenure stream positions involve didactic and clinical teaching in our highly ranked nurse practitioner major. We are particularly interested in a psych NP with a background across the lifespan, and a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner. Individuals must be licensed or eligible for licensure in PA as an RN and CRNP.

Research Assistant Professor
This full-time non-tenure stream position is available for a candidate with a currently funded career development award (e.g., NIH K series) that will transfer to the University of Pittsburgh upon hiring. The sponsored award will support a minimum of 75% of the applicant’s salary support. Unfunded effort may be devoted to teaching, research and service activities.

Faculty:
Several full-time tenure stream positions are available for faculty with a variety of research interests. Also available are non-tenure stream positions, full- and part-time, in the following specialties: anesthesia, community health, gerontological, psychiatric, pediatric and medical-surgical nursing.
