The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Nursing provides unique opportunities for tenure track faculty. The College of Nursing has two (2) openings for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The qualified candidates will be responsible for teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate programs, continuing/expanding a program of research and engaging in professional, university and community service activities.
Minimum/Required Qualifications for tenure-track faculty positions include: earned doctorate, professional experience commensurate with rank and eligibility for RN licensure I Tennessee.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications: Experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The College of Nursing is seeking candidates for the faculty position of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor in Health Information Technology & Simulation. We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of a wide range of specialties that will contribute to the HITS Lab emphases in (1) Research and development of healthcare related products; (2) Integration of non-traditional technology into the healthcare environment; (3) Engagement in telehealth and simulation research; and (4) Development of inter-professional research and collaborations.
Responsibilities include: (1) conducting research in one of the areas mentioned above, (2) developing funding opportunities with campus, state, national and international organizations, (3) coordinating with HITS leadership team to develop; and foster academic partnerships to develop the University’s health information resources and to support faculty mentoring, and (4) teaching in courses in health courses based on candidate’s expertise.
Minimum/Required Qualifications: earned doctorate in technology, engineering or health related field; professional experience commensurate with rank; and evidence of research or creative activities.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications: Research interest/experience in Health Information Technology and/or Simulation; Eligibility for RN licensure in Tennessee.
