Job Description:

The new UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital is scheduled for completion in 2011 and a new academic health center will help fuel the University’s Top 20 Business Plan. The College of Nursing undergraduate program’s graduates are sought by area hospitals and have had an average first-time NCLEX pass rate of 97 percent for the past nine years. The College recently doubled the number of undergraduate students but with added faculty, clinical groups have been kept small for optimal learning. The College was also ranked 40th among all schools of nursing in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding in 2009. The UK PhD Program in nursing was ranked 10th out of 99 private and public PhD programs in nursing (2008 Academic Analytics, LLC Report). The graduate program is tied at 26th among graduate schools of nursing according to U.S.News & World Report in its 2008 edition of America’s Best Graduate Schools.

Undergraduate Tenure Track
These 12-month positions involve teaching in the undergraduate program and initiating a program of research. The new faculty will teach 40 percent and receive 50 percent time to actively pursue research. Qualifications include a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field and a master’s degree in nursing, as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate education and scholarship. A research start-up package is available. Priority will be given to applicants with adult health, medical-surgical nursing or adult critical care expertise.

DNP and PhD Programs – Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
This 12-month position involves teaching in the DNP and PhD programs and having an active program of research. Qualifications include a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field and a master’s degree in nursing, as well as a strong commitment to graduate education and research. A research package is negotiable.

Applicants for tenure track positions must have completed their doctoral degrees at least one month prior to hiring date.
