Faculty - Doctor of Nursing Practice Program
The UT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER (UTHSC) College of Nursing invites applications for the position of a full-time non-tenure track position as faculty in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program (DNP) Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Faculty. UTHSC has educated more than 53,000 health care professionals on three campuses across the state – Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. The UTHSC campuses include colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy. Patient care, professional education and research are carried out at hospitals and other clinical sites across Tennessee.
Teaching responsibilities include both didactic course work (online and classroom, as appropriate) and clinical supervision of students. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. Responsibilities for this role include clinical practice assignment, in addition to educational responsibilities. Research/scholarship activities and institutional service responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with Department Chair.
Licensure as a registered nurse and advanced practice licensure in Tennessee required, as well as certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Doctoral degree preferred. Experience in advanced practice acute care nursing and education preferred; Academic rank commensurate with degree and experience.
