The Director of Surgical Services plans, directs and supervises all functions and activities reporting to him/her. Interprets and implements policies, procedures, standards and regulations to staff, patients, medical staff and public. Exerts leadership in assisting the staff to make decisions and coordinate the overall activities. Responsible for staffing and, if the need arises, may function as staff nurse. Demonstrates commitment to patient and employee engagement and shared decision making. Will be accountable for creating and sustaining an environment of safety for employees, patients and visitors.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduate from accredited school of nursing, advanced education preparation. Bachelor's Degree required.
Licensure/Certification: Current licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of staff nursing with clinical competence in this area. Previous management experience.
Physical Requirements: Frequent; lifting up to 20 pounds, standing and walking. Occasional stooping and kneeling.
Working Conditions: Prolonged standing and walking. Exposed to patient elements. Handle emergencies and incidents.
