Are you a nurse educator who is self-reliant, self-motivated, high-energy, and loves a challenge? Join the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Nursing in launching its regional baccalaureate in nursing program at the SIU Carbondale Campus.
Pre-nursing class starts in Fall, 2009 and first nursing class in Fall, 2010. This is a Director position reporting the to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate and Alternative Programs in Nursing and to the Dean of Nursing as needed. The Director is a member of the Dean’s Executive Team and will attend weekly Executive meetings via live tele-conferencing.

Role Specifications

• Illinois RN License or ability to obtain one
• PhD in Nursing or related field required; MS in Nursing if PhD is not in nursing
• Able to work a fiscal year or 12 month contract
• Teaching experience required
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must enjoy working with Student Nurses
• Ability to maintain students’ data bases and generate reports
• Medical-Surgical role specialization preferred
• Carries a 6SH per fiscal year teaching load
• Some evenings and occasional Saturday or Sunday required
