In this new role for Suburban Hospital, the Director of Nursing Quality will be responsible for directing the nursing quality initiatives in the nursing division and will be a key player in our efforts to obtain Magnet designation.
The Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of Patient Care Services quality monitoring and performance improvement activities. He/she will coordinate participation in national databases for nursing quality, including NDNQI, will collaborate with department directors in process review and process improvement activities in order to promote safe patient care and quality.
The Director will also be responsible for monitoring and publishing metrics to reflect Patient Care Services quality efforts, as well as Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements and standards to maintain continuous survey readiness. He/she will also organize and develop performance improvement teams.
Requirements:
- MSN required.
- We are looking for 3-5 years of clinical practice in a hospital environment.
- 3 years of Quality Management/Performance experience is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, data management and statistics is required.
- The ideal candidate should be able to interact with all levels of staff; with physicians and customers in a professional, diplomatic and courteous manner. Knowledge of performance improvement (PI) process is required, as well as experience in PI team leadership and facilitation.
- He/she should also have knowledge of quality frameworks (ex. Lean Methodology), nurse sensitive indicators, data management, aggregation, interpretation and graphical presentation.
- The candidate will have strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are also required.
