The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing, one of five schools in a thriving South Texas Medical Center, is a vibrant growing School, dedicated to serving the South Texas community and beyond. This well established School of Nursing with over 100 faculty and 7,600 professional graduates, offers BSN, MSN and PhD programs of study. The Director of the Nursing Clinical Learning Laboratory and Simulation Center will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinical learning laboratory and simulation center. Responsibilities include continual supervision of operations of the learning laboratory which is used by students for skill acquisition and development, fiscal oversight, as well as oversight and planning for development and implementation of a new clinical simulation center. The learning laboratory and simulation center will provide students with a state of the art multimedia education learning center which includes computer-based learning programs, simulation mannequins, and other technology enhanced learning aids for independent and small-group learning. The Director will oversee operation of all aspects of the program, including staff, equipment, and facilities.
We invite individuals with a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a PhD to apply. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference is for applicant with a PhD and academic experience. We particularly encourage applications from individuals with established teaching, research and practice programs related to simulation and technology enhanced learning strategies.
