Job Description:
The University of New England's College of Health Professions is seeking an accomplished nursing leader and administrator for the position of Director of Nursing and Health Services Management Department. The successful candidate will possess the strategic and managerial capability to execute two significant proposed changes to the program: the transition from a two plus two-degree curriculum to a four-year baccalaureate; and the development of advanced degrees.
Nursing and Health Services Management Department houses a NLN-accredited nursing program located within the College of Health Professions on the Portland Campus in Portland, Maine. The College consists of eight health professions disciplines and is experiencing substantial growth with the recent addition of a School of Pharmacy. The current baccalaureate completion program in nursing also has an international component that provides degree completion for students in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The successful applicant will report directly to the Dean of the College and will have a full time, 12-month appointment with administrative, teaching and resource development responsibilities. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership and mentoring skills, and have a proven research record including evidence of successful extramural funding.
Review of resumes begins immediately and will continue until a successful candidate is selected. The anticipated appointment will begin on or about August 1, 2009.
