The School of Nursing is seeking an innovative, hands-on educator and administrator to direct the MCG Interdisciplinary Simulation Center. In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Simulated Learning Innovations, the ISC Director will manage simulation and learning technologies and serve as a faculty leader for related activities and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a Masters Degree in nursing
Experience in or aptitude for teaching at the post-secondary level
Five years experience as a registered nurse
Basic knowledge and skills related to simulated learning
Demonstrated managerial, organizational, and planning skills;
Certified ACLS/BLS instructor
Demonstrated computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, and database.
Effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years experience in nursing education (academic or clinical)
Acute care experience
Advanced simulation knowledge and experience
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to interface with faculty and staff at all levels
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
Advanced computer and technological skills
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
1. Oversee the daily operations of the simulation center including implementing policies and procedures, managing the budget, insuring adequate scheduling support, and supervising staff.
2. Act as faculty leader in the area of simulation and learning technology, and collaborate with faculty to incorporate simulation into undergraduate and graduate curricula
3. Provide instructional support for students and faculty to improve competencies and skills in meeting course and program objectives through simulation.
4. Develop, implement, and revise simulation scenarios that are based on course and program curricula in collaboration with faculty content experts.
5. Develop systems to build simulation capacity with the School of Nursing and among other disciplines.
6. Maintain records and database to track simulation activities and to evaluate center usage and quality of service.
7. Provide an appropriate level of instruction for students in assigned courses.
Salary: This is a ranked faculty position. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
