The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing is seeking an innovative, dynamic individual to apply for the department chair of Family and Community Health Nursing (F3134). This is a tenure track position at the Associate or Full Professor rank, commensurate with preparation and experience.
Qualifications include doctoral degree in Nursing or related discipline with at least one graduate degree in Nursing. Candidates must also possess demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities, a record of sustained research with external funding and teaching and administrative experience in baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills and skills in collaboration and effective work with others is expected. The successful candidate must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Nurse practitioner licensure is preferred.
Responsibilities include leadership in faculty recruitment, development and retention; leadership for specialty course development and implementation; management of overall departmental functioning in accordance with University policies and facilitation of department development and school climate, promoting an integrated academic life for individuals and the School’s community of scholars and an environment that values and fosters multiculturalism.
