Dean, School of Nursing Search

The University of Washington seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as dean of the School of Nursing. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced academic leader to advance a vital academic unit within one of the nation's leading public research universities. A school with a long history of distinction and a legacy of educational and research impact, the School of Nursing serves over 700 students and is home to more than 170 faculty at all levels. The dean will lead the school into a new era of strategic growth and distinction, reimagining and transforming nursing research and education, and the nursing profession, for the twenty-first century.

The next dean will be tasked with addressing a set of key opportunities, which include the following:

• Bringing together a strategic vision for the School's continued excellence;
• Nurturing and supporting transparent, collaborative and shared governance;
• Cultivating an environment that is committed to and exhibits diversity and inclusion;
• Strengthening the School's finances;
• Recruiting, retaining, and developing outstanding faculty, students, and staff;
• Serving as a visible advocate and champion for the School;
• Maintaining existing and developing new community relationships; and
• Working collaboratively with the other health science deans and University Leadership.
