Durham Technical Community College is accepting applications for the following position:
DEAN AND DEPARTMENT HEAD, HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES
(Full-time, 11.5 months with full benefits)
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree or equivalent academic or technical credential in a field of study pertinent to the program subjects offered by the Health Technologies Department; three years of successfully teaching a subject pertinent to the department in a community/technical college or institute or similar postsecondary institution; two years of significant administrative experience at the program director level or higher in a community college, technical college, or technical institute; competence in oral and written communication skills appropriate to senior level management; a sensitivity to the needs and expectations of students, faculty, staff, and advisory or community groups; the ability to establish and maintain effective communication and interpersonal relations throughout the college and the community; the demonstrated ability to understand, develop, and implement assessment measures as they apply to competencies required for health related programs; formal preparation of a significant magnitude beyond or in addition to the master’s degree in two-year college administration and instructional management; two years of significant work experience in a non-educational setting pertinent to one or more departmental programs; and a thorough understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the North Carolina Community College System.
