The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith is located on a beautiful 140-acre campus in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a historic city of more than 80,000. The Coordinator is responsible for all activities, equipment, and resources associated with the Health Learning Resource Center (HLRC) which includes previewing and recommending software items for purchase; maintaining a current inventory list of equipment and media in the HLRC; teaching faculty and students how to use software and simulation equipment; helping to prepare teaching equipment for instruction; assisting with the remediation and instruction of students in performance based skill sets; maintaining and updating memorandum of agreements and affiliation agreements with healthcare facilities; and performing other job related duties as required and/or assigned.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in nursing; experience in clinical nursing practice; and a current license to practice nursing (or eligibility) in Arkansas. The chosen candidate will have a firm understanding of and/or willingness to learn multiple types of media and technology including the use of smart boards, Elmo, computer software and simulation, and various video applications. Demands of the position require excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective interpersonal skills; and strong management, training, and organizational abilities. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
