Suffolk County Community College – Associate Dean for the School of Nursing
The College Associate Dean for the School of Nursing provides leadership, administration and supervision over the Suffolk County Community College nursing programs, including Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse programs. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. The successful candidate will provide leadership for program development, review and continuous improvement, including the gathering of relevant data. The individual will develop and recommend the curriculum, participate in recruitment, exhibit a commitment to excellence in education; superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to solve problems using a collaborative approach; an understanding of administration in a complex, multi-campus community college; and experience in effectively delegating, monitoring and mentoring others and assure that the College’s nursing programs meet or exceeds all standards for continued accreditation with NLNAC.

A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required and a Doctorate is preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State, college level teaching experience in nursing, recent professional experience in nursing and a demonstrated record of management or leadership positions in the nursing profession are all required.
