Hours: Full-time (1.0 FTE), days, 8-hour shifts.
Location: Main Campus
Provides leadership, clinical expertise, education, program development, and consultation to promote the standards of nursing practice for all intensive care units that meets or exceeds hospital quality goals and Magnet program criteria. Works collaboratively with unit management and other leadership to develop criteria for patient care, assess needs of patients and families, and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal nursing practice outcomes. Facilitates CPI and staff nurse involvement in decision making and problems solving that result in development, implementation and evaluation of patient specific, unit, departmental and organizational goals.
Required: Master’s in Nursing. State of Washington RN License. A minimum of five (5) years of pediatric intensive care/pediatric cardiac intensive care nursing experience. Minimum 2 years Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or equivalent experience. PALS certification required within 90 days of hire. Willingness to obtain national certification in specialty within one year of hire.
Preferred: More than two (2) years CNS experience. Nationally certified in nursing practice specialty. Previous leadership experience. Involvement in professional nursing organizations.
