The Clinical Coordinator for Nursing Programs is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) who also holds an administrative appointment related to managing all aspects of clinical and preceptorship experiences as determined by the Program Director for Graduate Nursing, Program Director for Undergraduate Nursing, and Dean of the College of Nursing. The Clinical Coordinator participates in the well being of all relevant nursing programs and helps to maintain/grow student enrollment and promote faculty involvement.

The Clinical Coordinator also participates in activities that promote the stature of the College of Nursing and abides by the mandates set by Education Management Corporation, the South University Board of Trustees, University Chancellor, System Vice President for Academic Affairs, and College Dean.

Key Job Elements:
• Perform instructional duties as assigned as outlined in the Full-time Faculty job description and in accordance with the provisions of Faculty Supplement to the South University Employee Handbook, with the teaching load determined each quarter by the College Dean.
• Design, implement, and coordinate nursing student rotations within clinical and preceptorship settings that span the U.S. and are compliant with state agency regulations and accreditation standards.
• Organize, plan, and implement methodologies to evaluate nursing student performance in their clinical rotations and preceptorship experiences.
• Conduct periodic on-site observations of nursing students to evaluate instructional quality in their clinical rotations and preceptorship experiences.
• Organize, plan, and implement methodologies to evaluate the nursing curriculum as it relates to clinical and preceptorship experiences.
• Assist Program Directors and the Nursing faculty in the ongoing acquisition of clinical sites and preceptors that span the U.S.
• Conduct periodic on-site evaluations of clinical preceptors to insure instructional quality is maintained and clinical objectives are met.
• Assist in maintaining complete and accurate student and institutional files, including information on liability insurance, clinical affiliation agreements, preceptorship agreements, health records, and background checks.
• Assist with the admissions process that includes the recruitment, application, screening, and selection of applicants for admission to the graduate nursing programs.

Position Requirements:
• Doctorate in Nursing REQUIRED.
• Maintain current APRN certification.
• 5+ years experience planning, designing, developing, and contracting of clinical sites and preceptorship experiences across a wide geographic domain.
• 3+ years teaching experience in academic nursing or health-related in a university setting (online teaching experience a plus).
• Ability to read, understand, interpret, and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information to students, faculty, academic leaders, corporate leaders, and public groups.

This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA, and relocation is a must. Relocation assistance will be provided.
